The Claremont Equestrian Team is a group of horse-loving students that attend one of the five Claremont Colleges (Claremont Mckenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, Pomona, and Scripps).  We seek to offer both recreational and competitive horseback riding opportunities to college students, regardless of financial status or riding experience.

 

All of our members take weekly riding lessons with Vanessa Voight of Devon Equestrian Academy in Covina, California.

 

Some of our members compete in Zone 8, Region 2 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. The IHSA was founded on the mission to make equestrian sports more fair and financially accessible, and provides opportunities to compete individually and as a team.  In recent years, we have had riders qualify for IHSA Regional and Zone Finals.  In the  2014-15 season, we were the fifth-ranked team overall in our region of 14 teams.
