The Claremont Equestrian Team was founded on the mission to make horseback riding accessible to students at all five of the Claremont Colleges, especially to those who haven't previously had opportunities to ride. CET recieves some funding from the Colleges and the team holds fundraisers throughout the year, but we are not able to adequately maintain our team without additional support from donors and sponsors.   
 
Our team fees range around $4,000 per year and individual members incur lesson fees of $450 per semester and up to $250 for one weekend of horse showing.  This financial commitment especially deters new riders, meaning our lower divisions are often unfilled at shows.  Since we do not currently have the funds to provide subsidies, are struggling to fulfill our mission of making the sport more financially accessible to students at the 5Cs.
 
The Equestrian Club also aims to bring a variety of horse-related experiences to the Claremont community: in the past, we have led equine educational excursions and volunteer trips.  We aim to subsidize transportation and admission costs for these types of events in order to make them accessible to college students.
